LMAO means Laugh My A** Off

ROFL means Rolling On the Foor Laughing

lol means Laughing Out Loud
- lol also looks a bit like hands on mouth shouting

These are the main ones used by people, sometimes they combine them together to make ROFLMAO or ROFLOL, which I'm sure you can figure out now.

Also for myself, I like to use XD and XP which represent a sideways face. XD is squinted eyes and laughing really hard, XP is squinted eyes and a tounge sticking out which is used more in disgust or when you want to say 'nyeh' to someone.
When used with colons like :D and :P it should change into an emoticon, if you use msn messenger.

Theres a TON of internet lingo around and you should be able to find some of them on the net, I've left a few links below.

Also, LMAO can be pronounced as luh-mao, ROFL as raw-ful, and lol as law-lll. It saves time compared to reading out all the letters, and it sounds cooler.

Hope it helps :)

Internet slang consists of slang that users of the Internet have developed and utilized. Many of its terms originated with the purpose of saving keystrokes, (for example, "u" for "you", "r" for "are", "4" for "for", etc.) as a result many use the same abbreviations in text messages (see txt). The terms often appear in lower case, with capitals often reserved for emphasis — the pronoun "I", for example, often appears simply as "i".

Thongs are underclothes, convinced. Very smooth underclothes. Edit: they're both stated as thongs because there is something wedged between 2 different issues.. like between your feet and your butt cheeks. an excellent variety of issues are stated as thongs..
