I know this is a line from The Fantasticks but i never knew what it meant.

Louisa's wish is "To be the kind of girl, . . . As one who has performed both Matt and later El Gallo, I like to think that this is her ultimate romantic-platonic ideal of love. The odd mixture of sexuality/chastity of kissing on the eyes is indicative of the pre-experience Louisa's longing to grow up and remain innocent at the same time. The recent movie production of "Peter Pan" deals with the same longing of a young woman.

I always interpreted it to mean that she felt that the most love and trust could be displayed through the kissing of her delicate eyes. It would also be an expression of how beautiful and special she was...as we know, Luisa loves to hear how perfect she is in every possible way.

Just a guess, but it sound romantic. Like she is blind to all evil things. She sees the world in a happy and excepting way. She turns a blind eye to bad things and sees the good in all.
