I think that it will extremely difficult because just by comparing what they have accomplished at their respective ages. Brazil's Ronaldo at 21 was probably the greatest modern day player ever. Nobody was better then him at 21, and yes he's faltering at 29, but I think he will revive(or get his statue burned down too) his career, but then again CRON'S performance thus far this season is very good. Especially considering without Rooney most of the attention defenders throw are at him.(By the way Americans lol it's called FOOTBALL to the world)

im not a big fan of Ronaldo - i think he plays dirty and thats not real football if you win a game by being dirty and sliding all the time. He's cute and he may be the new Beckham of Portugal, but i think he's a cheat of a player and i don't welcome him back to the EPL. Everyone should BOO him in the first 3 games of the season!

nobody can take credit away from cristiano ronaldo for his amazing ball skills and sensational solo runs that often eat up the length of the field.

but taking a closer look as to how many of them have ended in the opponents nets leaves one dissapointed.

i would rather its a case of a contorted attitude in a person with immense talent and potential.

take for example the 2006 FIFA world cup. how many goals were scored off ronaldo's passes? none.

and the only one he sored was off a penalty!!

cristiano ronaldo often forgets that soccer is a team game and the ultimate objective is to score goals. i agree with those who are of the view that if you play the game, then play beuatifully - joga bonita!

i guess all the sheen is lost if you are dispossessed often in your solo runs or if you cap a spectacular run with a mispass. i would rather watch a 'defensive' match rather than a match with more than four fruitless 'runs' by cristiano ronaldo.

all this was amply illustrated in the portugal germany third place match where ronaldo after a zigzag run made a back pass without looking in that direction which was a bit too long for the defender, and germany almost made a goal out of that pathetic piece of 'skills'.

if you check the efficiency quotient of the player on the field and value it more than the 'wow' effect that he brings, ronaldo would never make it to your list of favourite players.

ronaldo by contrast was a player who actually made things happen in his heydays.
there's a whole world of a difference between the two!

In his dreams!!!!!! u r comparin a football god with an earthworm!
Ronaldo is a legend and hes undoubtedly has been the best striker ever! C.Ronaldo is totally immature and plays football his way........on the other hand ronaldo has the art of breaking through any defense and is a classic finisher of the ball........with trademark scoring by flyin past the keeper.........C. Ronaldo is not at all tough like him and loses the ball in seconds........he has a few more seasons to grow up..........perhaps he wud have learnt a lot from Ronaldo if he came to Real madrid..........

NEVER!! all he can be is a great actor...dramatic cheat!!and contrary to what the person above me just wrote-ronaldo can never be beckham since beckham is the greatest footballer there ever was to me!technically, ronaldo can dribble well but he is way too selfish and does not pass the ball very often which is bad for his team.

Why should be bothered with comparing himself with the Brazilian as long as he played. They are different types of footballers, Cristiano would be happier, in my opinion, with comparison with Luis Figo.
