Because it's just great. Unlike many of other anime/movie, there is a story behind virtually every character, even on the enemy side. It's more than just the fighting action (which of course is cool in itself... Ninjas are awesome); you can actually see the characters growing up as the story progresses. Oh by the way, in response to one of the answers- Naruto is not American... in many anime some characters have "non asian" features such as blue eyes or blond hair but they're still Japanese. You can tell by his name "Uzumaki Naruto". Anyway I strongly recommend watchng Naruto. I hope you like it!

Ugh, my friend talks about Naruto all the time, and because of that I HATE Naruto when I haven't even seen the first episode. I would join a I Hate Naruto fanclub if there was an active one.

well, I can imagine what your thinking. I thought it to, but The series does get more serious and I would say better all around as the later episodes come out.
Im using Youtube.com right now to watch the anime, Im getting close to episode 135.
I do have to agree though, Sakura is a whiny chick who needs to grow up.. but I have heard she grows some attitude in naruto part 2!
So Im looking foward to that!
just one more downfall, Naruto is at episode 200 I think.. and still going >.> what si with the 200 plus episodes anime.. I mean GEEZ! heh..

Well I am soooooooooooo bananas over naruto is a awsome and not just that but how the ninjas act,but mostly about the fights that they have.G-O ,G-O,G-OGOOOOOOOOOOOOO, NARUTO.

because its not all about asian.. It interprets american naruto as an outcast. and its funny.. and it has some hot anime girls and guys for the ladies.
All you have to do is enjoy it.. only problem is the commercials every 5 minutes

like any other fanticy show, its not the real world, and the real world sucks, that and the charactors are easly seen as haveing values or feelings that the viewer can respond to.
