Yes I was very shy. I gradually just got used to talking to people since I was put in many social situations and even had a job where I had to constantly deal with customers on a regular basis. I'm still nowhere near outgoing though.

I was so shy. I was afraid to leave the house. I was so shy I spent much of my younger child hood years living in fear of people. then one day bam... i discoverd alchole at the age of 15 and from that first drunk, I was never shy again. No I am not an alcholic and I do not drink very often. I have one or two now and then. But that first time getting drunk opened a whole new world for me. that and the cute guy in the black leather coat getting me drunk at the drive in movie on the hood of his car. it took a beer before i would get out of the car. you know your first time drinking it does not take much to get plowed meaning drunk. Now I am loud and abnoxious and not afraid to talk to anyone.... and to think 22 years ago I was this shy girl who would seldom look up. hell my daughter can not believe that i was once shy. she wishes i would go back to being shy and quiet..... trust me alchole for the first time will take away any shyness.

Yes, very shy. I don't think I ever overcame it because I really feel uncomfortable being the center of attention. I hated speech class in high school and college even though I knew everybody there. I have a pretty good singing voice, but the only place I feel comfortable singing is in church. I guess God helps me out.

I was VERY shy. I would get scared to even walk into a room of people. It scare me to death. I just gradually outgrew it. I was in Band (still am in college) and i think it helped, because we always had to audition in front of other people, and I'd occasionally have solo's and things like that to play in front of audiences. I finally decided i loved conducting, so i wanted to be the Drum Major in high school ( the person who stands in front and conducts.) So after i tried out and made Drum Major, that pretty much knocked the shyness right out of me. I had to conduct a band of almost 200 people, plus stand with my back to a stadium full of people at half time. Crazy Times.

One should learn and behave to that age to overcome and shyness.
When you are clear that you knew better than others, the confidence makes you to overcome the shyness.

PAINFULLY shy! I don't really know how I over came, I think it was just a gradual thing. I started to come out of my shell a lot through high school. Then, going away to college helped me to get over it pretty much completely, since it was almost like starting out from scratch.

I was terribly shy when I was young. When I was out on my own and had to take care of myself, I could not be shy any more. I have to take up for myself and do for myself.

I was actually very shy until I had my first child. I divorced my husband, he was cheating on me. I realized that my daughter only had me to fight for her and I got over my shyness fast.
