At least people are telling you you're beautiful. Did you post this question just to get attention? You obviously do have low self esteem. You need to find it within yourself, and quit looking for others to tell you how great you are.
Sorry, I didn't know you were only 17. I would not have been so harsh.

The first part of the question, "How can you have confidence if you are not beautiful?" If beauty is the only thing that is important to you then If you are beautiful I guess you would feel self confidence and If you were lacking in beauty then you would be lacking in self confidence. If you are trying for a modeling career or something that you need a certain look for then that would make some sense. There are many, many reasons to feel self confident however, that don't have anything to do with beauty. I have a friend that just graduated from medical school at the age of 22. She is not only very smart but very nice and also very self confident. You shouldn't put such a value on your physical looks. Not all actors are beauties anyway. Your beauty will fade as you get older so if that is the only thing that gives you a reason to feel confident then you will be very unhappy when you grow older. You should focus on the other things in your life that mean something to you and find other reasons in you life to feel self confident--good luck!

How old are you? If you're a teen, feeling insecure is normal. Teens are changing a lot, so they still don't know where they fit into the world. Are they pretty? Are they liked? Are they smart? Are they lovable? These are major questions for teens.
By the time you become an adult, you should have more confidence. That happens with maturity. But still... most people live all their lives with some leftover insecurities. You don't have to be beautiful to have confidence. You just have to believe that you are one hot person... brains, heart, personality or whatever.
Confidence comes with experience. Believe that you are good no matter what. I was very insecure as a teen, but now I have plenty of confidence. Yes, I have my insecurities as well, but I'm a lot more confident because I focus on other people rather than on myself all the time. That's really the key.

Being beautiful doesn't always mean you are confident! It is normal to doubt yourself, no matter your age, race, religion, it is human nature. No one is perfect, but you do have to some sort of resolution about that. So what you are no America's next top model, are you a good person, are you intelligent, what about your sense of humor, can you make a person laugh?
These are the important aspects that make up an individual, not just outward appearance! Knowing you are a good person is a step to finding that inner self confidence!

I;ve spent my whole life looking like Prince Charles, so I can tell you looks do not make the person, nor do they ensure success nor popularity.
Here's the solution to your problem. I want you to sit down RIGHT NOW and define confidence, what does a confident person do or what makes them confident.
then make yourself a checklist and every day do what's on the checklist, then look yourself in the mirror and REALIZE you have done everything you can do to be the best you can be.
Try this for a week and let us know the results.
Good Luck

All you have to do is know who you are and what you are to be confident. You are a woman who has a lot to offer the world, aside from beauty. You are unique, there is no one else on the planet who is just like you. Keep all of these things in mind and you will find confidence no matter what.

I think everyone is beautiful in their own way, but if you have a problem with your self-image, and want a different way to feel good about yourself, I suggest you get a hobby you're really good at. I'm good at sports. My friend Savannah used to have the same problem, and she still somewhat does. Just go to www.selfesteem4women.com and ask for help there.

Do you have friends who love you? They love you no matter what you look like, don't they? Try to see yourself through their eyes. In some ways confidence comes with age and maturity. Most days I can hold my head up and just be who I am. I don't dwell on looks anymore, its what is inside of me that is important. Sometimes it is hard to feel good. On those days I try to think about the days when I was happy. Happy is pretty.

It is all about self confidence. I am not the best looking person in the world, but my attitude is if the person does not like me, they can rack off. I do not care. I am going to live my life the way I want to and I am not going to take anybody's orders about it either.

Look into the mirror, smile, and accept your self. Be at peace with yourself. Dont compare yourself with anyone. There is only one you in this whole world and build on what is inside of you, inside your heart and mind than on appearance. you will go a longer way.
