Doubtful -- a 9 year old hasn't fully developed physically. He/she would be at a disadvantage. That's why they put kids and teens in the "junior" ranks. (Yes if you count junior tennis as "pro." Not sure if they earn money at that age.)

Although, on the women's tour, Capriati started at 13, and I believe Hingis started quite young too. Still, 13 is a big difference from 9.

No. No 9 year old's muscles are well enoughed developed to be hitting the tennisball at such a high speed that a professional won't be able to handle. Not even a prodigy.
