This question is merely out of curiousity.

For some weird reason, I'm not offended by it (and yes I'm white...and 25% Mexican). Maybe it's because I'm a die-hard fan of the show (even though it's scripted). In fact, it's one of the FEW reality shows I will consider watching.

Some people think it would make others cheer for one race over another. Not the case with me. I found some interesting Asian individuals I'd like to root for (read their profiles on the show's site) as well as some contestants who live in my hometown of San Diego.

Most likely, the tribes would probably form into two main tribes after the first episode like last season so I don't think they will be segregated for very long. Eventually, the contestants will HAVE to learn to work together and put their ethnicities aside.

From seeing the contestants, I think that everyone has an equal ability to play their way to the million dollar prize and not through racial stereotypes. Anyone agree or not?

I am coincendently in the same boat as you. I am Hispanic/Italian and I would have to say that people need to get over this new ploy to grab America's attention by raising some eyebrows.

Yes. You can cynically call it racism, BUT the contestants on the show agreed to it. They are the ones who are okay with it; they are the ones who are going to be put to the challenge of supporting there ethinicity.

I can see how it can offend, and bring up arguements. Hopefully no one will base this TV show and make it the dominant race and be a radical like Hitler.

People who disagree - Don't watch it, and go focus your time on something better to do.

People who agree - Support your show and watch it religously.

I'm on the fence, because I'm not offended but think the writers have finally run out of ideas and took a serious risk.

No matter what, people will always object to something; You think it would be for more important matters on life, not just a reality TV show that has a catchy theme song.

I have never watched an episode of Survivor but I have heard that this is what they are doing for the upcoming season. It will be an interesting study in human behaviour because whether we like to think it or not we all have a concept of the "weaker & the stronger". As the show is about surviving, the teams will align into partnerships and that is where the audience will see who looks upon who as the "weakest link". I might have to watch this one just for that reason.

I'm always offended by the show. It has nothing to do with manipulation of race relations. It's difficult for people with disabilities to watch. We don't like the idea of being voted off the island because of some superficial distinction. We don't like the idea of encouraging people to look down on other people because of differences especially shallow ones. We don't like the idea of genocide. Or the weakest link philosophy. If you'll do in a "game" and find it acceptable, how long will it be before you adopt the same kind of philosophy under stress?

There's nothing to be offended about. It is a TV show, and the whole seperate by race thing is to create interest. They all knew beforehand that they were going to be seperate by race and agreed to it, so obviouslt the contestants are offended, and nobody else should be either. Because really, seperating the races on a TV show has nothing to do with anybody. Really. and if you dont like it, dont watch. simple.

I personally am not offended, but the only stink you'll get is from Jesse Jackson if the Black team doesn't win. If they do, he would praise Survivor for being racially diverse. But it shouldn't matter anyways, it's not a team event. It's an individual event. So, one person is going to win, not an entire race.

Nope not at all, I'm asian, and I'm thrilled to see it. It seems like something interesting, and personally if you ARE offended by it chill out because some people are offended by EVERYTHING. I mean seriously even though I'm asian and proud, I still love hearing funny asian jokes as long as they are vaguely tasteful

after everything we accomplished over the years to accept and live amongst one another they are going to put 2 races up against one another. I'm personally not offended but black people take everything personally so its not a good idea

Hopefully the people on the show will not be idiots about it. Hopefully the whole thing will be less of a "big deal" than the network expects it to be. They'll do anything for ratings.

No, it doesnt offend me, I just think there is no need for that. It's dumb to seperate the tribes by race..just plain stupid, which is why I have never watched this show.

i think its a great idea, althou i dont realy fancy about the show. however, i can even come up with a few ideas as in splitting them by the languages they speak most, by career groups, by gender, by martial status, by birth dates, etc

i think it will be very interesting, for eg. married vs single - will pple with family be more caution when playing the game; all those borned in may vs those borned in december, what kind of chemistry will they spark, etc.
