Throughout history politicians have dominated their own people in the process of maintaining popularity & in staying in control, all out of self interest. Aggression towards another state or government seems to get approval, because everyone wants to be on the winning side, especially in war & losing in a war could have dire consequences.
Religion or a form of worship, that allows itself to be used in a way to promote or foment war proves to be, by its compliance to the political hand, a great disadvantage to those who believe in it. That is something very few people realize. One exception is you by your aptly posed questions.
History, as in the first 2 World Wars, shows that catholics fought & killed catholics, likewise, protestants killed protestants. Persons of the same faith & values killed each other. In more recent times, followers of Islam have intensified their efforts to kill one another moreso with suicide bombs indiscrimenently. People who pray to the same Allah or God, just like the catholics & protestants in europe.
Only a religion, that these folks can feel good about, can exert this type of influence upon them. This same religion will let them do what politicians are already telling them is ok to do, which is, win, conquer, prevail, all in war,
because, such a religion retains its popularity with people. The clergy don't want lose their place of authority, so they end up going along with the political agenda & consent to being used as a tool of politicians.
One great humanitarian stated that the 2 necessary things to observe is to love God & fellowman. None of the above religions live up to that obligation. The majority of the world's religions contradict that principle, and if it were ever applied, no one would ever support any politician & his views, because then, people could see through that person's agenda, i.e. war, victory via religeous backing.
In your Bible, at Isaiah chapter 2, there is an apt description of those who would be 'learning war no more'. What an ideal, but it seems few have ever read it, and fewer who ever applied it.
Actually, it could only appeal to those seriously
would like to see that thought come true. I welcome all & any comment or question.

Power springs from control; the more people you control, the more power you have. Religion has always been a tool used to control people, and war has also always been a means to acquire more power, so it makes sense that the two should combine.

We let religion interfere with the laws of our land because we haven't outgrown it yet, and there are still many people who are too indoctrinated, and thus too afraid, to move beyond it. Religion, and its/our affinity for war, may kill us all before we do.

Surely religion is made to make people suffer. We let, because they serve the purposes of 3 P's, the Politicians, Priests and Pornographers. They have much stronger low animal cunning than rest of the masses and the major part of the masses are close to illiterate. So the 3P's and their dead god always win .

I think that you have overstated the case. One of the few things that Karl Marx got right was to say that religion is the opiate of the masses; it is obvious that a lot of people take comfort in their belief in it, and the question of the actual accuracy of those beliefs is considered wholly irrelevant. You will see many responders in this forum defending their religious beliefs with no evidential grounds for doing so. And, although many wars can be attributed to religious motivation, there are also many that can not -- such as WWi and WWII.

Where did you get this idea of religion making sheep out of people? I have never heard of politicians or criminals using Christians for their own ends. Any facts? WW 1 and WW 2 were not linked to religion - in fact, the causes of these wars starting had nothing to do with religion. The only link that religion had was for humanitarian purposes.

EVOLUTION is a theory ivented by Mr Charles Darwin just over a century ago. It is disturbing how people are buying into it. So much so that our own government protects this idea and pushes it down innocent children's throat without the consent of their parents.

The bible contains documentation of the beginning of mankind, and many things that happened throughout history and that have been uncovered by science to the exact time and place and is not allowed in schools. Where is the truth? You should ask yourself. Search in your heart, you will find it. Try it!

Exactly.
Because people are stupid. They need something to believe in, something to hold on to.
There are even theories that in the past kings invented religion to unite their nations.
And remember, at the Council of Nicea people gathered to decide about the dogmas of Christianity... What kind of a religion is something that people decide about?!
It was made to make people believe. For whatever weird reason, and that reason might be something negative, yes...

Because no one can insert a wedge into 3000+ years of religious tradition- it's just too widespread to do anything until something really major comes along to make people change their relligions- say, The Jewish Messiah or the return of Jesus Christ.
