What is a Ouija board supposed to do?

How does it work?
If a spirit is supposed to be there when its in the room, then when you play it, do you often find yourself just putting your hands on it and it not moving?
I heard some really stupid BS from a used to be friend that she asked a question, then the board went out of hand and she couldn't take her hands off it, and yelled for her dad to take it off of her. seriously is that stupid or what

A Ouija board only works by the people touching it and the answers they expect to receive from the spirits they're imagining contacting. One time I blindfolded the "Psychic" and turned the board upside down so everyone expected to go to Yes, but instead they went to No, because they were doing it themselves! The "spirits" would've known where the Yes and No was... LOL!

It's used for the dead to be able to contact humans. There's the actual board with numbers and the alphabet on it and there's also a glass object, sort of like a magnifying glass? You put your hands on the glass and the dead supposedly "moves" your hands over the letters and numbers to spell out what they want to say.
