We all know that Dhoni has had a tremendous batting form throughout the year. He, eventhough is not a pure batsman, has shown his batting potential in a flying manner. His contribution during the series with Pakistan and Srilanka can not be expressed in words. He is the fastest cricketer to be placed in no. 1 ranking. In a short carrer, he has achieved such a huge name and fame. ICC itself had awarded him ranking 1 position in ODI batsman in the world. Then, why did ICC keep an biased eye towards him. Now I realize, why do people blame ICC as being an organization only in the favour of the western. It should be prosteted strongly otherwise it may repeat such a blind decision again and again.

THE QUESTION IS VERY FAIR.MAY BE HE HAS SLIPPED FROM THE TOP RANKING BUT DO NOT FORGET THAT HE HAS THE HIGHEST AVERAGE OF THE THREE GILCHRIST, SANGKARA, AND DHONI.
AT THE SAME TIME WE SHOULD NOT FORGET THAT GHAR KI MURGI DAL BRABER IS TRUE FOR INDIANS ONLY,BECAUSE WE HAVE TAKEN FULL GAURANTEE TO KEEP THE SO CALLED FLAG OF TRUTH MAY BE WE HAVE TO GIVE GREAT SACRIFICES FOR THE SAME.
I THINK DHONI FULLY DESERVED THE HONOUR.

yes ur right Dhoni should b in the nominee for best odi player 2006 and according to me i think he must have been the odi player 2006 without any nomination u can see dhoni has the best average in 2006 than any other except i think HUSSEY or Yuvraj the selectors has done very wrong with dhoni !!!!!!!

Dhoni has not have a tremendous year in Tests.Dhoni has not played better than other nominations.

becaus of the very fact that he is number 16 on the list for ODIs playd in 2006 and runs scored...and very fw of his performancs led to indian victory....ICC announcement this year is a nice one

I don't really have the answer for ur question...
But as for his performance in the calendar year-05, he cud have been awarded...
But, early rewards at times tends to makes them feel that their job is nearly accomplished...only if the destination to b reached is at gr8 distance...any person wud continue to excel in whatever he/she does...
i b'liev that he wud accomplish himself even better as a player and b rewarded for his potentials....

sice he is the new comer in india team, so i dont think so he will b getting a chance he not playing full 100% in every game, but if there will b a chance in the world cup then he can be nominee but not now, sorry
