SHOW him a picture of a really large body builder,and say its your boy friend, even better go to a gym across town where no one knows you and get a picture made of you with a body builder, show it to him and say please don't let my boyfriend see you around me he will put you in the hospital like that guy last week, i felt so bad for that poor man,he was only asking directions to the market, or say some thing like that, it will work i promise.

You have to sever all ties. Don't talk to him, chat with him, email him, take his phone calls, &c. Don't even read his messages. If you live with someone tell them not to let him in or take any messages, but not to confront him. Change your phone number, make it unlisted, and get caller ID. But do not confront him! Just ignore him completely. Any contact or hostility will set him off. Just pretend you're always busy. Avoidance is the best defense. If he's waiting in front of your house, then sleep at a friend's house. With no contact and no new information, he will eventually go away and get a life.
