When all I said was Good night, kisses, love you? I was only trying to say bye for the day, and they say I commited a violation. I say what I said to everybody I care about in real life, and they don't penalize me. Besides, there are FAR, FAR, FAAAAAAAARRRRR more obscene and offensive questions posted that people should be flat out booted for. What is it with that?

The violation would be that it's not a question, not a violation I'd be reporting, though. I agree, there's so many obscenities and just plain mean stuff on here, that's what needs to be reported.

people report you if something offends them
the rules say that this is not a chat, but an answering forum to questions ,what you said could be interpreted as chatting.

some people will report anything
makers them feel important maybe or you actually did something wrong
the message goes to a robot which processes the abuse
and there is nothing personal about it
just the luck of the draw ,that somebody who likes to report ,saw your question
I agree there are a lot of unreported offensive answers and questions
personally I don't bother to report things ,not usually, got better things to do like answering questions.

someone must have complained, you can dispute it if you like. look for a dispute violation option in the e-mail they sent you. maybe they just were complaining because nobody loves them. you should have a question though when you post or people get mad. this is not set up to carry chat dialog, it is simply questions and answers.

I agree when you see some of the vile and obscene stuff that is allowed - i think you were treated harshly ......yahoo answers is like a little community and i think there is nothing wrong with what you did

It means someone reported you. Why they reported you and not the real violators, I do not know.
And, it is called, Yahoo! ANSWERS. Not Yahoo! QUESTIONS.
But, you didn't ask a question either. Sorry.

I really don't understand what your talkin bouts. What did you really say to the person? where you drinking at the time? smoking weed? doing any kind of drugs? well anyways next time you want to ask a question make sure you have the whole story and make it sound like a question that might help you out next time.

The same thing happened to me, Yahoo!Answers removed it because they said that it was chatting. That's a no-no here.

well that's the problem, you didn't ask a question. This website is called Yahoo Questions, and it's meant for people to ask questions and not say good night.
