MAC makeup stores are the best for any makeup questions...DON'T feel intimidated either that is why they have makeup artists working there...also go through some magazines (Vogue, InStyle, Vanity Fair, Cosmo) and find some pictures of the way you would like to be able to wear your eyeshadow, eye liner, lipstick or the whole look...take them with you and they will be able to tell you with your face shape, eye width, and eye shape what look is best for you...You can also go into a salon and just have your hair styled ask questions about product and technique they should be more than willing to help you...Good luck girl and hang in there, you'll see your look change and that is so exciting...

Find a cream or liquid foundation(SPF 15) that flatters your skin tone. Sample by putting some near your neck and if it matches the skin color of your neck, it is the right color for you.
As far as cheek blush, eye shadow, etc., choose colors that do not over power your face. I don't know what color your hair, eyes, skin are so it is hard to say.

use light make up..sometimes go for the bronze look (3 shades of brown/golden brown and a light bronzer on cheek bones with a nude/beige tint of lipstick and gloss) and OR try different colors like light pink, sheer pink, and a darker pink (NOT HOT PINK!)on eyes....and for others add up to 3 shades together, one over the other..with black eyeliner and mascara..and for hair ,get a 2 toned hair color ..add some hilights all over and get it in a razored-layered cut and make different hairstyles

Hey Gal if you want to start with make up...start with simple things...like a lip balm or lipstick....eye liner and mascara...and most important...keep your skin clean..go for a clean up or facial once a month...and eat healthy food and drink lots of water....
oops...most important...use a suncreen when out...
And wear that mysterious SMILE :-)
