after you get your permit..how long did you wait till you can get your lisnece...and dont say, 'well depends on your state laws'

I only had to wait 6 months legally, but I waited a year since I got my permit a few days after my 15th B-day. So, I was forced to wait a year until I was old enough.

For me it was 6 months and at least 100 hrs. Then i had restrictions for a whole year.

Of course there may be different period in different states, but six months is the usual time.
Then you can drive all by yourself, but don't talk on the phone when you are driving. (smile)
