so, do you people really believe that he wasn't doing anything to that animal to deserve what he got?? i love how they're saying they aren't going to show the footage of his death. out of respect for the family....yeah right. they don't want to show us just how much he was tormenting that animal before it decided it had enough and shut him down. are you kidding me about how he was "attacked" by this animal?? can you really truly in your heart say, after seeing his shows, that you believe he wasn't causing this animal undue stress?? i wish i lived in that world, where I could believe those lies. tomorrow morning I'm gonna buy myself some rose colored glasses and see the world from your point of view!! ignorance is bliss.

interesting..."truely in my heart I can say I wish it was you that got killed and not steve" that is soooo thoughtful and caring of you. if I get any more replies from you like this I will be reporting you. i don't need people attacking me for my thoughts and questions on here. if you don't agree with me, feel free to say so in your answer, I'd imagine that is what makes this forum interesting. if everyone had the same opinions this would grow very dull very quickly. if you want to try (quite unsuccessfully) to be hurtful attack someone who might care what you think. please leave me alone now. good day!!!! .

"Yours is not a question therefore it should not be here." nice, nice...let me explain it to you...see the little squigly marks at the end of the first sentence?? they look kinda like this...? that is what makes it a question and not a statement. but thank you for your thought provoking reply!!!

Yes ignorance is bliss,
& you are ignorant..
HE DIDN"T PROVOKE THE ANIMAL, a policeman said there was no evidence that Steve had threatened the animal and it was a freak accident
HE WAS BURRIED TODAY, GET SOME RESPECT...
Truely in my heart, i can say i wish it were you that was killed & not steve.
Unless you live in Australia & are getting the right information, you don't know anything, I think you should shut your face before someone decides to report you.
Honestly, Wether the animal got provoked or not.. Steve Irwin is dead, and he has done more in his 44 years then you would ever be able to do in 5 lifetimes..
Get off the computer and go see a psychologist.. You need to take your BLACK colored glasses off, Because you aren't seing what has really happened, Stop making up rubbish in your head

Yours is not a question therefore it should not be here. Nevertheless as far as statement to statement goes I dont believe at all he tormented animals. I do agree that he got the stingray stressed by getting too close because the animal's reaction was just a defense mechanism. Your theory that he was an animal tormenter is not even logical, he was doing a documentary and only a fool, and he was not a fool, would torment animals on film knowing that millions of people would see it. As far as buying yourself glasses, it's not a bad idea, not to see the world rose colored but to see the world through less biased eyes than yours without them.

Why do you keep saying such horrible things about Steve? No, I do not think that he would ever have hurt an animal. He grew up with a love and respect of animals and he wouldn't have lasted long in the conservation and wildlife reserve community if he, in any way, abused animals. I think it's wonderful that you have so much concern for the animals, why don't you translate that concern into action, and donate your time to an animal rescue group or your local humane society?

no, he wasn't doing anything to cause the animal grief. . but it didn't know that. .
he knew that playing close to dangerous animals was dangerous, and that he'd probably die doing it.
That was his choice.
And yes, I can say I don't believe he was causing the animal any "undue stress". . what is undue stress in the animal world anyway?. . it's an every day thing. .
animals are always in a struggle for survival. . so so what??

Queensland police have CLEARED Steve Irwin, he was NOT doing any harm to any creature H e was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Would you like your family to see your death. Seeing some die is not something you forget easily and its stay with you for life.

I love your question and I agree with every single thing that you said including the additional details. With one exception, the tape isn't being shown, out of respect. I had to report a person also for Abuse. Don't know whether it was the same one that hit on you, though I noticed that same person also answered this same question. Thankfully, Yahoo Q&A removed all the dirty words she had posted to my questions so that I didn't have to look at it anymore. I did give her more than one warning in advance and told her I would report her if she did not stop; however, she did not heed it. We should all be allowed to express our opinions without abuse. I never wished for Steve Irwin to die and was even amused by his TV shows. However, let's face it, when people continually play with fire they will get burned. The same goes with wild animals. May he rest in peace and may all his heartbroken fans let him rest in peace instead of using profanity with his name in the same sentence to defend him. Steve never would have wanted that. They don't realize it, but they are doing him more of a disservice than defending him. This statement does not apply to the fans that have expressed their opinions without using profanity, slurs, etc. I have great respect for them and also for them respecting the part of my opinion that differs from theirs.
