The Bible says we should not take the name of the Lord in vain. Leviticus 18:21.
Most of the cursing nowadays is shoddy, lacking in imagination and related to bodily functions. Original curses take more thought but are much more colorful, "May your brain wither like two week old lettuce." "May your shoes be as soless as your heart."
A preacher once told me a good "damn" is even in order on occasion since some things deserve such. This is a prayer, however, since only God can damn and you asking for a favor.

It's not the cursing so much as it is the reason behind why we curse. We (usually) curse when we are angry and most of the time we can't really control it. This goes against the anger rule (don't get agry over stupid stuff). We get angry and we lose our self-discipline. We insult someone else somethings when we curse. This is a self explanatory "fraud"/sin.

One of the 10 commandments is to not take the Lord's name in vain....but that's it. Words like the 'f bomb' weren't invented until later. Society decided those were bad words all on their own.
