If you're talking about the actors who made the big "silver screen" and have the big bucks, *some* may hit the party button hard. But most actors are plain folk who have the smaller roles doing alot of different venues like; dubbers, or voice overs, audio book reading, documentaries, smaller plays, commercials...basically no time for hitting too many parties.

In my experience it doesn't happen during rehearsal or show times....now cast parties are another story lol.

The fact is that the actor must be in relatively good physical condition to act, and if your tired, hungover or whatever, you are not giving 100% to your role. The audience deserves that much, and so do the people you have to work with. Without the focus needed to effectively portray your character, and make others believe it, your role, and potentially the play will flop. You lose the energy of scene and play.

So the aswer is generally no.

Some are, some aren't. Actors do tend to party HARDER than others, especially when de-stressing after a show. But, many don't party at all. I'm in theatre, former actress, and I've never been a partier.

They might be thought of that way because to be an actor you cannot be shy or scared of being the center of attention so therefore, they might also be social and love parties but that's not always true.

Some are and some aren't. I've known plenty of actors who exemplified the "work hard, play hard" attitude, but there are a gazillion would-be actors who never quite figure out the "work hard" part...

Not necessarily! My neph is an actor, but rarely parties. He's a responsible family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and child.

The ones I have known through my career are not. They like to get together and have some drinks. But they are not crazy party people. .
