For me...
-Cowboys
-Cosmopolitan cities
-Sixth Street in Austin
-Alamo
-Riverwalk
-I-35
-Houston skyline
-The Strand in Galveston
-Scorpions
-Mexicans
-Congested freeways
-Corn nuggets
-Southern pines in east Texas
-The incredibly friendly natives
-Lyle Lovett
-ZZ Top
-Austin City Limits
-Aerosmith (don't know why, b/c they're from Boston.)
-That mesa near Amarillo (don't remember the name of it.)
-The unmistakable Texas pride!
-The fact that, for some reason, Arkansas and Louisiana can't stand Texas (those sub-par states are only jealous!)
-Trans-Texas Corridor
-Davy Crockett
-It can fly its state flag as high as the U.S. flag
I love Texas!

I live in Texas. There's just too many things to list !
I know I'll never live in any other state again !
Just a couple of things are the sunsets I see in my own front yard
Six Flags Over Texas
Friendly people
The beaches in the South
The partying in Austin and Dallas
Southern Pride
SO many excellent bands, and stars, who are just down to Earth people !!!
It's " My Home " !!!
and SO much more !!!
I know a lot of people connect Texans with Bush, and don't like us for that reason.
We're NOT all like Bush !!!

"Just shoot me now" Those are the words my daughter groaned when we crossed the state line from Louisiana and she spotted the mileage sign! (Teenagers hate road trips with parents). So many things Texas brings to mind. * Galveston; what a beautiful island (one of my favourite places in all of the US). * And the drive down the Gulf coast. * How Dallas shone in the sun - all modern gleaming steel and glass. And who can ever think of Dallas and not remember the tragedy that struck at the heart of a nation in this city (and the Ewing clan too). * The fiasco that was Waco. * The beauty of the stark and barren panhandle. * The colour and culture of El Paso. * Isolated oil rigs scattered across barren land. * The warmth of the worn stone of the Alamo fortress and our lunch on the River Walk in lovely San Antonio. * The states awful record for the capital punishment of African Americans. * But one of the things that most stands out is the Texans unwavering pride in their state. Lucky you!

I Love Texas because it is the birthplace of our President. George W. Bush The leader of the free world comes from Texas. His ranch is south of Dallas. He is a real cowboy too. He has cows and horses on his ranch and a barn. He even hires the men in front of the Crawford Home Depot to work at his ranch.
I love Dallas, my friend as he gives me a polish reach around for a ticket change in San Antonio, Texas. I love the Tyler Rose too. She owes me some money, but I love that old trashy broad anyway.
In the words of Sam Houston, on the occasion of his presidential inaugeration, "I would have prefered having my testicles be removed with tenderness, but I was forced to relieve my bladder and the bladder of my horse and the bladder of my men servents and their horses and some pack animals, and 2 goats for milk and that crazy kid "micky" on those smoldering bones of your patriots".
I love Texas most because, God lives in Texas.

No matter where Uncle Sam made my family move, my sister and I were taught from birth that Texas was home.
The sun setting behind cacti, cedar and mesquite touches me right to the heart every time I see it.
I invite everyone to come see Texas for yourselves. We've got everything but snow skiing.

I visited Texas once (San Antonio) and I remember it being hot and dry. But seriously, I have never met a Texan I didn't like, either there or in the only other state that's better than Texas.....
California.
