the dvd CDs we get at the store is usually 4.7 GB. How about the DVDs we buy or rent? Like Lord of the Rings or Spider-man. What kind of DVDs do they use and how much GB can those hold? Where can I get those?

A lot of those are dual layer discs which can hold over 8 GB of memory or in this case movies, extras, features, etc... Something else that is interesting is the capacity of the new blu ray discs that are being released (otherwise known as high definition dvds) with up to 25 GB of space on a single layer disc and 50 GB on a dual layer disc. You can buy them almost anywhere, while the dual layer discs will cost more you pay for what you get, and in this area stick with the name brands, half the time if you try to buy the lower priced discs they will be duds or the quality of the recording will be horrible. Hope this answered your questions.
