What colors should I use in the background of my website? I would like the colors to be easy-on-the-eye, but not boring.

Right now I can't decide between blue or a beige color.

Any suggestions?

Studies were found that brighter range colors yellow, red orange were more stimulating whereas the cooler range darker range of colors in the blue to violet areas were relaxing when they used these colors in rooms with groups of people.
You can do these colors in pastels so that they are easier to read print over and not so stressful on the eyes. If the left hand border has some decorations on it that are pleasing to the eyes and attractive that will not affect reading print or if you set up tables on the background for reading print over you can have the background whatever you want it to be. There are a large variety of available backgrounds on the internet free to upload and use. Along with a great many web sites discussing web design out there.
