1)Zinedine Zidane- Took an ageing French team which wasnt even expected to reach the quarters to the finals and lost a very tight match to Italy(partly due to his fault as the headbutt could have been prevented).Rightly deserved Golden Ball.
2)Gianluigi Buffon-OUTSTANDING GOALKEEPING. He just let two goals find the back of the net, an own goal from a teammate and then a Penalty Kick from Zidane. Rightly deserve Lev Yashin award
3)Fabio Cannavaro- THE GREAT WALL OF ITALIAN DEFENSE. Italy didnt miss Nesta and that's bcoz of Cannavaro's solid defense and tackles. Great captain too.
4)Ricardo- According to me the best Portuguese footballer in the wc. Superb goalkeeper though not as good as Buffon.Yeah and he is hot too.
5)Marco Materazzi- Well, he is a good, hardworking defender and you know helped a lot to Italy's cause to win after insulting Zidane's sister.(NO OFFENSE TO ITALY. I ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT ITALY WOULD HAVE WON EVEN IF ZIDANE WERE THERE.)

i assum top 5 players is according to their performance in the worldcup and how far they went ..
which means we put zidane first and cannavaro in second
and then figo was perfect...we put him 3
as for fourth i think it is gonna be miroslav klose ,he scored 5 goals last time around, and he was about to score even more this time.
and finally fifth we give it to fernando torres...even though spain didnt reach round 8..torres did great things to spain..scored 3 goals in 4 matches he was perfect..he was the main focus of the spain's attack if spain reached the semi-finals torres wouldhave been the scorer and not klose
