My boyfriend & I were at a friend's house when he received a call from his best friend, who wanted to go out. He agreed to go out with his friend after "our" night was over. I was upset with him and let him know. Late rhe asked me "Are you really that upset about me going?" I told him "Yes, mainly because you would be very upset with me if I went out after "our" night was over." We went back & forth like this for a bit. He went outside to smoke. In the meantime, my friend & her boyfriend got started on HER going out, etc. Let me say here that I NEVER go out. I can count on one and a half hands the number of times I have been "out" without my boyfriend. Well, my friend's boyfriend brings up this time that my friend & I went out - MY boyfriend doesn't know about this time...it was all innocent, but I just never got around to telling him. I say "OK, let's drop it b/c he (my boyf) doesn't know about that." My boyf walks in, having heard everything outside. Obviously, what I

said doesn't sound good. He was upset with me. He thinks that this has happened wuite a bit, when in all acutality, it hasn't. He is upset with me because I don't tell him that I am going out before I do it. I don't tell him because I know that he will get upset. He doesn't tell me as well, when he is going out. I find out about it later. He denies this. On the way home, I apologized for not telling him. He is angry, I'm upset. What to do??

Sorry to say, but he's found out you didn't tell him once and then tried to hide it when someone else talked about it - that's reason not to trust you. You'll have to prove your trustworthy.

However, he obviously has issues with respecting you since he does the same thing. Good relationships require communication and respect and without them the relationship won't last or it will be a miserable one. Good luck with it.
