How many years of schooling are required to be a dermatologist? And are dermatologists required to do surgery like surgeons? I'm not really into cutting holes into peoples buddies.

Thanks!

At least 8 years. You have to do an internship and yes, you will have to cut people. When they have moles or unusual skin conditions they need biopsies. When they have calluses or other strange growths they need to be removed. When they have rosacea or other conditions on their faces they need laser surgery... and many of these things are done in the office. You cannot just send them off to have it done elsewhere.
And come to Ohio. We are short of dermatologists... but only after you get over your fear of cutting people.
