There alot of yahoo answers junkies , typing in day and night...
it has became a trend , socializing in here and some people dont answer question at all rather make posts commenting on the person who asked the question and critisizing his/hers point of view or attitude. this has really got to stop since those people are very annoying.. when i ask a question that is not cheesy sounding or funny, that means i want an answer and nothing else some people just go off chatting . yeah sure make a few comments but when u see a question like .."HEY WHO's HOTTER BRITNEY OR JESSICA" but when u see somthing like "How do you convert miles into km " plz dont go off about ur personals.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It seems like the ratio of serious answers compared to silly and/or mean answers is starting to drop. People are wanting to have fun, and serious questions are pushed to the side, or given generalized answers. All we can do is ride the wave, and let this site take whatever path the majority takes it down. There is very little direction coming from the great yahoo in the sky as far as censorship is concerned,not even they seem sure whether or not this site is for amusement or serious questions.
Try putting in your questions "Serious answers only, please" It might cut down on the people who are trying to impress you with their own wit, or make those "I don't know" answerers pass you by, but it won't completely cut them out. Keep in mind that there are always those who cannot follow directions.

I agree that there are answer junkies.
I agree that it's become a trend to socialize in here.
I disagree that it has to stop, because without becoming a police state, how can they really stop it? Better to just focus on the answers that are helpful and just ignore or thumbs down the bad answers and flag off the really offensive posts or ones that go way over the rules.

Most people here are lazy, especially in the Homework Help area.
Some are just bored, as evinced by a lot of the P&S questions.
Serious questions or ones in need of a real answer get ignored.
And don;t forget those spammers

well you do have a wide variety of people on this site and all ages from young children to cranky old people, so as in real life you will get some weirdos and idiots, and some smart asses, so just take it all with a grain of salt, at first i was taking it all too seriously, just go with the flow..

yes, I definately agree. It just annoys me when people start living on it...honestly, I go on what? Once a week or two? And then my sister goes on every single day...
