I don't know exactly what sort of stories you are reading, but if they are true stories then that is weird. You shouldn't take pleasure in someone else's pain. If you had to live that "never boring" life of abuse you may think differently about enjoying it from the safety of your boring life.

You're right that the stories aren't boring. They're not supposed to be. It's what life is. Human drama. Ever since the beginning of time. I don't think you're weird so long as you don't become a true life character in one of those stories you like so much. Then you're certain to have mental issues. Physical ones as well.

Some might say that you are weird but maybe you're not.
you can look at abuse stories in two different ways....one you can read them and be horrified yet in another you can learn something more about this cRaZy world that most people want to ignore.
Alot of times you can learn from others misfortunes and see what to watch for. A good book is A Child called "IT"

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I am 36yrs. old and like to watch, read or listen about thses stories. I believe , we are trying to heal some past wounds or deep down we want to become active in the fight against an ongoing epidemic. Knowledge is power. Ask yourself this- would we have surgeons if they followed certain crowds who thought the sight of blood was disgusting. Never question what you do or don't like. I think your curiosity is more in why it happens, and who it happens to. There is the Psychology in every abuser. You may want to rent a couple of movies- if you haven't already. 1 is Bastard out of Carolina, 2. would be Murder in the First. If you haven't already seen it...What's love got to do with it. YOU DON"T HAVE MENTAL ISSUES!!!!! You are more in touch with what society is choosing to brush under the rug. Don't follow the crowd of ommission. Use you curiosity and become involved - volunteer your time to abuse agencies.

No, not weird. I always read or watch them too... not because I get a kick out it. I guess it never ceases to amaze me at how cruel and heinous people can be. It boggles my mind at how brutal one human can act towards another. I guess it's a reminder that you can never be too safe. It also teaches you what signs to look out for. I'm a mother now... and more than ever fear for the safety of my children and family. Though reading up on stories upsets me greatly, it also shows me things I would never have thought of.

It is not unnatural, but it shows your mental status. It shows that you are a young person, you belong to an affluent family which does not have to do much for earning the bread and butter. You do not have sentiments for the human lives as well. This type of mentality is going to harm you at the late stage of your life when.

it is OK to like stories about abuse, but not the abuse itself. i love real crime and murder stories. Always been fascinated with them. I guess I am a freak too.

It depends. Do the stories make you happy and satisfied, or are you like me and read them because they make you more aware of the world around you. If it's the first choice, then your probably evil.
