My daughter wanted a kitty, we didn't really want her to have one. She got a big piece of cardboard and made a presentation. She studied facts about kittens and how to take care of them. We even made her sign a contract about her taking care of the kitten. She got one, that was 2 years ago and she still takes care of it.

Hon, I'm not an expert on pets, but I don't really think this qualifies as one! If you really care about this creature, you will put it back by the water to give it a chance to survive. This probably will not live in captivity, so it is cruel to keep it. Try asking to have a small tank with some fish, or some other little creatures found in a pet shop that you can learn how to care for and buy supplies for. Mom would be way more likely to allow you to have a pet if she sees you are responsible at other things...like doing the things to help around the house that you know she will like. If she sees you are willing to do things to help, she may be more willing to take a chance that you will care for a pet. Give it a try, but never take wild creatures out of their domain...they need their own habitat to be happy! Good luck to you. Hope you get a real pet.

Do all the chores in the house without asking, Moms like that a lot. By the way your pet is awesome!

if you already have it you need to be more responsible. start by telling her to give you 2 weeks to show you can take care of the pet.
