I was going though the questions posted, and some of the answerers are always blatantly insulting to black women, saying that we're all fat and ugly and wear wigs. I don't wear a wig, and I don't think I'm ugly. I may be overweight, but that doesn't mean that all black women are. Why is everyone picking on us?

Girl, forget those ignorant people. Anyone who will sit there and say that an entire race of women is ugly is just flat out ignorant. I've been reading a lot of these stereotypical questions and answers and I've just chalked it up as straight up ignorance. Jealousy rears its ugly head in a lot of different ways and some of these questions/answers prove that. Keep your head up. You are beautiful.

I'm sorry to hear that those type answers have been posted.
In my lifetime, I have seen a lot of different nationalities, skin colors, etc. I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in all of them.

In the past few weeks there has been a guy posting extremely insulting racial slurs. This upset many readers regardless of their skin color; they, including myself, reported him to Yahoo. Now, all of his posts have been removed.

I don't know! I've seen a lot of stunning black women.

Statements like the ones you've mentioned are just part of some peoples need to generalize. It's a lot easier to generalize than it is to think.

Personally being black myself and online a lot, I haven't seen a lot of people direct such slurs except for such a few sprinkling fools who come in certain places like "black chat" and just try to get people started like "game boy", sadly...they often succeed on upsetting a few people.

I let it in one ear and out the other, don't get played. To get hype or dwell on their ignorance is to surrender your control and it drains you of your positive energy. But really, I agree with many of the other posters' here in that it is not just black women; i've witnessed it accoss the board, yes, even from our own black males (mostly young).
***** and as for that guy with the cartoon begining with the K that answered he don't trust all blacks from his experience and make eye contact, i'm assuming he was traumatized in a few black experiences, so i'd not dwell on that response either...that's what I mean...one ear...out the other on the negative...don't share in the negative. Peace gurl. ; )

To each their own. SOme people just have to grow up . Others need to get over the fact that their are rude people in this world and don't make it a racial issue.
If we just let things go and grow up theired be no problem. You just have to stop feeling the racism as well. Some people that feel like they are being treated racialy disrespected need to get over it. Maybe someone has a "Personal "issue" with themselves. These people are the ones that are racist.

I think it is the other way around. Many of the black women in my neighborhood are beautifully coiffed and dressed. Many of them have weaves & extensions, but that is their choice & they do it so they can have a look they like. Fatandugly never was one word and sizism is one prejudice that people can get away with.

I've never heard anybody say that, but there are many stupid things said on Yahoo! Answers, sadly.

You don't wear the right clothes (spandex, sweats, and low rise with all that stuff hanging out, and the low rise are cuffed at the calf? what is that? ), blond hair? Fishing lures for earrings and room air freshener by the gallons for 'perfume'? And yes, they are all overweight. There is a gym or healthclub or every corner, a diet in every magazine, every doctor know methods for you to lose weight. The average, everyday black woman just can't, hasn't or won't get it together.
