It's hard to believe that Monday will be the 5th anniversary of 9-11.
It feels like it just happened a few months ago still. I think just about every city in America will be holding some kind of rememberance for the occasion...............I hope to attend one.......May they all rest in peace.............Will you be respectful and at least say a prayer for thier souls and their survivors????

I will think of them even though I didn't know anyone who died that day. I won't watch any "recaps" of that day in New York on television. I understand that nearly every station will be bringing the events of 911 to our attention that day as a part of the regular programming. It will be on that night also I'm sure, when I am home..

But I've had enough. Every month of every year since it happened, there has been some kind of coverage, and from so many different perspectives, including movies, History channel, the Learning Channel, other 'specials', TV interviews,.books, newspaper articles, magazine articles etc..

So I don't need any visual reminders. They're already seared within my brain and mind.

So......I will spend some time that day. I will reflect. I will think of them and their families. I will think positively, hoping the families are moving ahead, and that somehow, life is becoming more bearable.

But I cannot bring them back.

and so........I will pray for this great country of ours. And I will pray for our nation's government..and for other governments and for people from all over the world who do NOT want to harm us ..as well as those who do...

You see, I don't only ask that "God Bless America" as though we are the ONLY country that deserves his blessings

I ask that "God Bless the World." in his infinite wisdom.

I was just a high school freshman when this happened fortunately I saved the first section of the local newspaper from Wednesday September 12 2001 and just today I read it again and it seems crazy how much my prospective has changed over the matter after these five years. What happened that day I now realize is something to pray about, so yes on Monday I will pray for all of those people that lost their lives.

What does "a little prayer" got to do with 9/11? Why don't you go to the White House and tell W to get the hell out of a town if you want to do anything to 'remember' 9/11.

Yes I shall pray for the departed souls, we mourn the death of innocent people. Though I am a Muslim, I feel ashamed that some people used the name of our religion to perpetrate such heinous act. These people are yet not defeated and they are playing politics with our religion. I do also pray and hope that civility prevails over barbarism in all aspects of the society of this world. Amen!

Do you pray for the people who lost their lives during the Pearl Harbor attack or the Oklahoma bombing or for the ones who lost their lives in the countless school shootings, etc.? Why only 9/11? They were just as innocent.

Since I live in NYC, I will probably be doing a reading of the 9/11 play I wrote.

Yes.
They are in my thoughts nearly every day.
Every day we hear about the war, car bombs, and the seemingly endless and needless pain and suffering that still come the events of 9/11.

The victims of 9/11,and their surviving families
will always be in my thoughts,
and in my heart.

Always.

Probably many little ones all day. I have already begun, and I will pray for those whose current perspectives were formed 5 years ago when they were 5 to 10. I don't usually pray much.

Absolutely...I felt the concussion of the plane hitting the Pentagon, and I remember that as if it were yesterday. It is terribly sad to think at that moment so many people died. I feel sad for everyone lost and the loved ones left behind.

It may seem harsh, but I think our country tends to overmemorialize everything. Once is enough, maybe twice. But all this fuss over "you can't build there again" and "we have to approve what can be built there," is way over the top. The same goes for the PA field and the Federal building on OKC. We need to learn to mourn, remember, and move forward.
