If not, why have we not been attacked since? We were attacked pretty regularly, so, if there was no net gain in safety, we would have been attacked after, right?

Just so you know, the pentagon and WTC were also attacked in 2001. I find it amusing how Libs respond to the question with short bursts of ignorance, but no real answers or information. Keep it up guys, you are doing a GREAT job.

I have the sense to recognise that 'safer' is an abstract concept, and that we are only 'safer' until the next attack. With that in mind, we have thwarted many attacks since 9-11, Attacks that would have gone through if the Bush administration had not taken action. With that in mind, a logical mind would have to associate the Bush administration with the decrease in attacks, and the increase in 'safety', right?

Less safe.
The government which created the so-called attacks on 9/11 are still in power, and more confident because they got away with their last hoax (so far).
Their next effort, in order to get sympathy for war on Iran, is likely to be grander in scale, and likely to kill even more of their own citizens.
The only way to become safe is for people to wake up to the truth, by doing some solid research into events on that day. Hollywood, the TV and the newspapers are not going to tell you the truth, because they were involved in the hoax.

I don't believe that we are safer or that any substantial changes have been made to improve our safety. There has been increased security at airports BUT dozens of airport uniforms and other miscellaneous items go missing every day. U.S. Marshalls now fly the friendly skies BUT who's to say that every hijacked flight can be stopped. I have heard of no preventative measures taken to stop the contamination of our water supplies, none to ensure that our transit systems are terriorist-proof and nothing to indicate that our chemical plants can be protected.

Take Hurricane Katrina into account. Four years after September 11, it was obvious how our state and federal governments perform during a critical indicent.

Anyone who cannot foresee another disaster such as September 11 has to be blind. It has happened and will happen again, it's only a matter of time. We (the government) will become lax, complacent and once again believe that we are invincable.

I am not to sure we are any safer than we were. How would we measure this anyway. The enemy is very patient and lies in wait for the right moment to strike. It took 8 years between the first WTC bombing and the second. They tried to bing it down in 93 but it didn't work.We all know what happened on 9/11. I kinda hope in a sick way we get hit big again so the Liberals can shut the f u c k up.Bush did not invent terrorism.

Hmm, "we were attacked pretty regularly" seems a little odd since the last attack on U.S. soil before 9/11 happened December 7th 1941. Seems like that is a little less than "regularly". Are we safer? Yes, all of Americas coporate criminals are safer now than they were before. They don't have to worry about going to jail for stealing from people. And the upper 1% of wage earners are safer, being protected from paying their fair share of taxes.

I think we are:

We have a whole new structure of agencies searching for and thwarting domestic terrorism on the federal and state level.

We have a different mindset, we are all watching and communicating things that seem dangerous- this is the most effective tool we have, being aware of our OWN environment.

Not necessarily. It takes time to plan something like this. The right suicidal Bin Laden followers have to be found, chosen, and trained.

I fear we will be attacked again by Islamic extremists and al-queida.

It's only a matter of time.

Yes. No attacks yet right? Part of me wants a bug or a bomb to go down on Anytown USA to wake people up. Not that I would REALLY want that, but seriously what does it take?
