I can remove the personnal data on my profile but my real name still shows up when one does a member search on my yahoo ID. what I would really like is to delete my Yahoo ID completely and If I can't then remove any name associated with it.

Yahoo! members can remove their own accounts and account information from Yahoo!. Please follow the instructions below to initiate the deletion of your account.

U cant delete ur yahoo answers or any other yahoo service account individually. If u wish to delete ur account, u shall hv to delete ur full yahoo account.

Or Go to https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user
and click on terminate account.
It will solve ur problem.

profiles.yahoo.com--> edit profile information -->
go to the bottom where it says "display options" and
leave unchecked.
then click save changes.
try that out before removing your email acct.

i think you could just get a new one, email your new one to al your friends and just forget about it it will usually go away within 3 mkonths or at least my old one did
