We have a few problems with Windows here. First - the cloud cover. Then, since we are going up from Florida, lightning strikes can be a nasty possibility! These are the openings, usually made of glass, where the space-hop takes your burger order. During the lunch hour these spacewindows may be occupied with many hungry patrons, so this could indeed create a delay in your spaceshuttle lunch date. The only worse thing than a delayed spaceshuttle lunch date, in my opinion, is arriving only minutes after the spacewindows shut down the breakfast menu. At any rate, may I recommend the doublespace burger with cheese and a milkyway shake.

Well, with the Atlantis launch, they had to launch at the right time so that the shuttle could meet up with the ISS (International Space Station). While in orbit, the shuttle can't zoom around like they do in Star Wars movies, so there are only small "windows of opportunity" during which the shuttle can launch.

If the space shuttle doesn't have to rendezvous with another space craft, then they only have to worry about avoiding existing space craft when they launch, so then the window of opportunity is much longer.

A spacewidow is a period of time where the shuttle can launch and get into the right place at the right time. It doesn't have anything to do with the weather, but if the weather is bad... they scrub the launch even if the spacewindow is open.
