cure for malaria

I heard that having sickle cells and normal blood cells helps to prevent death from malaria. Not neccesarily a cure but better than nothing

There are currently 20 vaccine candidates in clinical trials across five continents. Although many effective forms of treatment exist, it is only through the application of appropiate sanitation measures (control of mosquito population by insecticides, treating stagnant waters, avoiding peri-domicialiry breeding sites, protection of the household with mosquito screens) and development of effective vaccines, that malaria will one day be eradicated like other infectious diseases like poliomielytis.
Malaria alone has killed more people throughout history than all wars combined and it is considered the deadliest disease in the world because of the overwhelming number of people that it kills every year, mainly children under 5 years of age.

Malaria can be cured by combined treatment with artemisinin, a medicine derived from the sweet wormwood plant, and a second anti-malarial drug. When used correctly in combination with other anti-malarial drugs in Artemisinin Combination Therapies (ACTs), artemisinin is nearly 95% effective in curing malaria and the parasite is highly unlikely to become drug resistant. ACTs are currently the most effective medicine available to treat malaria.

There is no cure, only manage it. Best to take malaria pills if you visit a hot spot.

Im not sure there is one, Id imagine it has something to do with peniciline and other antibiotics as well as a fever reducer/pain killer. Might even be morphine involved. Its a killer though.
