Sin is anything that is against God's law. It is something that I will have to deal with my whole life, but since I am a Christian, God will forgive me if I repent and ask Him. Through the Holy Spirit who lives in me, I can resist the temptations of the devil and as I grow in the Christian life I can overcome sinful habits.

If it injures your body or your mind, which is your temple, or someone else's it is a sin. Some things will hurt you if used in excess but not when used in moderation. For example some religions teach that drinking alcohol is a sin but other allow it. But using it in excess is not good. Same with many other things.
