I still have my doubts about W. Va being in the top ten as the media is just voting for them due to them having the easiest road to an undefeated season. Auburn, LSU, and Michigan all get their real first test of the season this upcoming weekend. USC as the number 2 as they were idle. Texas drops due to their loss and the exposure of their inexperienced QB, they will get hit with another L or two but could still make it to the big 12 title game. ND as the clear number 3 due to the level of their opponents over Auburn and LSU. Ohio State still number 1.

I agree with a playoff system, but the conferences and Notre Dame wouldnt make as much money as they do with all the bowls that are out there. A playoff system would mean almost a total collapse of the bowl system, with the exception of the big 4. I agree with a playoff system though.

W. Va opponents are a combined 1-3, when they play a team with a chance of being .500 talk to me about W. VA.

Air Force almost beat the Vols, and Navy is a rivalry from way back when the Naval Academy sent cadets to ND to keep the university open. I have watched W.VA play, they are a good team. I have watched Louisville play they are a good team. Not going to argue they arent good, I dont think either one is a top ten team however.

WVU's schedule > ND's schedule?? Not quite...and to say that USC is the only team on Notre Dame's schedule just belies your ignorance. I would put up just about anyone on ND's schedule against WVU's. Sure the Irish have Army and North Carolina, but they also have Top 25 caliber opponents in Georgia Tech, Penn St., Michigan, UCLA, and USC, plus Michigan St., Purdue, Stanford, Air Force and Navy, all of which are decent, I'd take that over Marshall, Eastern Wash., Maryland, East Carolina, and USF any day. There's really no question about it.

As far as the rankings, I really cannot believe that FSU stayed in the Top 10. Notre Dame beats a tough GT team on the road and they drop 2 spots, but FSU nearly loses at Doak to a team that was I-AA six years ago and stays put? Absurd. Other than that, not bad, it's so hard to tell who's really good at this point though. I almost think they shouldn't do rankings until after the 7th or 8th game.

sorry, you got that wrong, WVU should be #4, and the only reason they only put up 52 points today is that they played everyone who suited up and the future superstars Slaton and White only played 2 series, Slaton had 105 yards and 2 TDs on 8 carries, and FSU should drop out of the top 10 after almost losing to Troy, if you have doubts about WVU, maybe you should watch them play, i think the 3-3-5 defence would mess with Brady Quinn's head and the irish defence cant keep up with Slaton and White, but thats ok, bc the only real team on ND's schedule is USC, otherwise its a patsy schedule, come on, the 3 service academies, usually ND has a tough schedule but not this year, ok if you wanna argue that West Virginia dosnt have a tough schedule, thats ok, bc they dont, the Big East is tougher than people think though, Syracuse sucks and they almost beat Iowa, Louisville is usually underrated and should beat Miami, and Rutgers is way better than people think

Who really cares, without a playoff, you'll never have a true national champion!! Screw the bowls, give me March Madness in January!!
