If you earn more, your views generally become more in tune with the thoughts of a more capitalist person, and you start to think, why am I paying 40p in every pound so that some 17 year old slapper can get knocked up with 2 babies, whilst the spotty druggy boyfriend does a runner, and my hard work, and taxes will pay for this person to have a house and benefits, that the spotty boyfriend will then probably move in to, and neither party will ever plan on going to work. This then triggers the social class thing, as you see yourself as above these people (rightly so), and you look at the policies of the political parties, and focus on how they are going to right this wrong, and also reduce your taxes in the process,as you feel that a person who wants to work hard should be given incentives to do so, rather than penalties. As you get older, you become more cynical of these people, and you may have visited a few poor countries that dont have a welfare state, and you notice the difference with the poor working classes, and how humble and polite they are.
You then make comparisons with your own working classes, and the pill becomes that little bit more bitter...you then have children, and pass on your knowledge, and encourage your children to seek a different path to the kids of the people you have this contempt for, and the class society becomes ingrained

I'm probably working class now (I've gone down the social scale as I've got older) and I have quite a reasonable income now I can spend it all on myself. I always voted Conservative as the (modern) Labour Party have changed from being an envious rabble ('if I can't have it, then nor will you') to Tory clones. The United Kingdom Independence Party is how I vote now. I feel all three other main British parties are either pro Europe or scared to be anti Europe. Most of Britain's troubles hail from European dictats . We are effectively run from Brussels - Westminster is just a Regional Assembly. I love my country and want the power returned to Westminster.

I used to be a Democrat. Voted for Clinton twice and Gore in 2000 but when it comes to defense I am very much to the right so I voted for Bush in 2004 and would do it again though I would prefer Giuliani or McCain because they reflects more my social attitude. Our income was very good in the early to mid 90's and has been excellent since the late 90's but that is not what drives my vote. The first thing I ask of my government is to insure a strong defense.

Income affects the way I vote because I want to decide how to spend the money our family works hard for. I do not believe the government should decide what to do with it.
We are upper middle class with an income that is in the top 5% of the country and we pay way too much in taxes.
We don't have generational wealth, so we are not "rich".
AGAIN - we WORK for every penny we have.
I vote Republican.

I vote with my conscience I would never vote for a party who are solely interested in making sure that the upper class retain as much of their inherited wealth (mainly gained in the past either through theft or other peoples labours )as possible. The tory party are the prime example and you still get mugs who actually believe them when they say they represent all classes .The more YOU work the more YOU put in THEIR pockets . No matter what you think of Tony Blair or whoever is leader of the Labour party a Tory administration would never act in YOUR interests

I'm Irish (naturalized) and I vote Sinn Fein, the only left wing party left here.
Got nothing to do with income, only with a sense of justice.

i imagine that's more beneficial of a monetary concern quite than a classification concern. rich human beings are more beneficial probable to vote conservative because, in an fairly huge sense, their guidelines are more beneficial probable to assist the more beneficial positive off. both, a lot less rich are more beneficial probable to vote Labour because their guidelines are more beneficial probable to assist them, undergo in recommendations even as Labour presented the minimum salary. The Tories hated that one. God forbid each and every body getting paid a good salary! To generalise more beneficial i imagine it will be probability-free to assert that center classification human beings are more beneficial probable to be wealthier than operating classification human beings. In that sense i think you should claim that social classification does impact vote casting. no longer affirming i'm precise, merely my opinion. Edit to Heralda. builders and plumbers operating lengthy hours for low pay??? i do not understand what planet you're on - even if it ain't earth.

I am republican cause even tho I am a pathetic have not one day I will be a heartless have more and cannot honestly state that my desire for social justice for all will go away as this is all I can hope for at this lowly level of society however when I obtain power and status my values will surely change and this party would best represent my interests at that time
