Sometime aroumd 1985 plus or minus a few years I had snuck down to watch some movie late at night on HBO or Cinemax. I only got to watch a few minutes of it before my mom caught me and sent me to back to bed.
The premise was this:
It took place either in boot camp or maybe a military school. The sargeant that was in charge of the young men was real hard on them and they decided to get back at him by stealing something of his. They watched through his window at a special katana he prayed before at night.
So one of em steals the katana. And the sword seems to possess the guy, changing his demeanor. He becomes megalomaniacal and is chasing his other former friends around. Using his new found powers he changes several of them into pigs. And he is also seen sort of flying/floating through the air(just a 3-5 feet off the ground).
Anyway, I'd really apreciate the help. I've looked through countless horror listings and can't find anything like it.

Pink: Never thought of trying sci-fi. There was plenty of blood with the possessed katana guy hacking away at people. Given the supernatural events occurring I had assumed it was horror. I mean, there wasn't any real focus on machinery or computers or anything science related. None the less, thanks for the idea of somewhere else to try looking.
Anyone else got the title?

After reading plot synopsis - it almost certainly has to be Evilspeak. :)
And further check of the history of this movie explains why so many have never seen it and couldn't help with my question over the years -- It was placed on the list of "banned video nasty's" that the UK created during the 1980s ratings hysteria.
Guess I was lucky to have seen just a little of it so long ago! :)
I have been trying to figure out what this horror movie was for like 20 years.
So again, thank you! Ordering it from Amazon now...

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but it might have been "Evilspeak." It's at a military academy, and the psycho kid does have a sword, and there is a decapitation scene, but I do not remember enough of it to know if it really matches what you saw.

Dude.. I don't think you're describing a horror. None that I can think of and I'm a horror fanatic. Try the Sci-fi section. It sounds more like a Sci-fi film rather then a horror movie.
