In the book "the Outsiders" what's the church signification?Or how's the church significant?

I don't really remember it being significant except for the fact that it was abandoned. That was why they were staying there.

Maybe they found out what they believed in while they were in the church. They found out that they believed in helping others, and in doing the right thing and turning themselves in.

Its "accepting" as in "welcoming to all" - they could be who they really are there and it was okay.
It was their safe haven - home away from home, refuge etc.
In a way it was thier "center" - like your relationship with god should be the center of your life - and then everything else is supposed to fall into place.

it was abbandoned. kind of how the boys felt. you really should read the book though. its really good.
