I think it was bound to happen, almost creepy that he did a fed ex commercial that predicted his demise!

He's an international celebrity, of course it's sad to see somebody who the world was familiar with die.
But people die every day, one of them recently who I knew a whole lot better than Mr. Irwin.
Pardon me if I'm a little less sympathetic about a daredevil dying during a daring activity than a close friend, but I'm afraid that Steve Irwin simply failed to act properly, and died like he should have many other times.
I do think it's kind of embarrasingly pathetic that he was whacked by a relatively much more harmless animal than the one he is proclaimed a master of hunting.
Er- That's wordy. What I mean to say is:
He ought to have been eaten by a crocodile.

Yes, I was totally shocked when I heard. Its like he's been doing some many risky things so many times, it was going to eventually happen, and at the same time I think that because he had so much experience, this wouldn't ever happen. That stingray could have hit him anywhere else and he could've survived. And we all knew him as the crazy crocodile hunter, but he did a lot for the wildlife in australia, and he was a zoologist. He was taken much too early because he had so much to give and so much to teach us.

Yes, I agree that it is sad that he died....it was such a freak thing that killed him. My daughter was petting sting rays when she was five because they were so "sedate". I am not shocked that he died but the way in which his life ended. One would expect that it would be a more violent event that would kill Steve Irwin.

It is sad, I did not cry, but you play with fire, you are gonna get burned. I think he underestimated the danger of what he was doing. And he got careless.
It is unfortunate but that is what happened.

yes it is very sad because he saved probably thousands of animals and did all he could try to help in any possible way.
he loved what he was doing and at least he died doing what he loved doing.
