My dad tried to teach me once, but he got bored. I still want to learn, but I don't know how or where to start. I also don't have money to hire a professional. Any suggestions? Anything will help. Thanks!

its easy its only four strings you just have to get use to pressing the strings one the frets a lil harder than a regular guitar. get a beggingers guide to bass playing. also practice your fingers so you can play faster

Keep it in tune, practice everyday...I played guitar but I played bass in a few bands..my older cousin was a bass player and I learned from him but he told me the same things I first said....I played along with the records until I got it right!!! Practice every day...keep the strings clean and in tune...if you do, you'll see results in time!!!
