What do you think? Rumers have been going around for the last year or so that Square-Enix is thinking about remaking FFVII for the PS3 to be issued out a year or two after the system comes out. What do you think? In fact, the PS3 trailer presents a remake of the opening scene from the original FFVII for the PS1. Do you think they will remake it? Should they remake it? Also, if you've seen teh trailers for FF13, don't the kids taht play the main parts look kinda like the grown up versions of the kids from FFVII?

square enix representatives deny that a remake will be done

whether they plan to remake it or not, i don't know, but i DO know that the tech demo has nothing to do with a remake. [hence the words "tech demo" meaning" technical demonstration]

the tech demo was made for the SOLE PURPOSE of showing the power the PS3 will harness.

with such power, a remake with updated graphics is possible, but that's still up in the air.

however, if they DO remake it, i hope they never remake the older games, because i love the older games the way they are, and they were already remade for gameboy anyway

From Wikipedia.com:
Some speculate that this anthology will include an enhanced remake of the original Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation 3. This speculation was sparked at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo by the release of a Final Fantasy VII technology demo featuring the opening sequence of Final Fantasy VII recreated in PlayStation 3 graphics.[131][132][133] Though Yōichi Wada explained that the presentation was intended only for technological demonstration purposes[133] — claims echoed by Yoshinori Kitase in an interview in Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Ω[131] — the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly stated that the video was actually a "sneak peak at a next-gen revival" of Final Fantasy VII.[134] An official statement from Square Enix later debunked this claim, reiterating that the company had not announced such a project.[135][136]

also, people have even made petitions to square to remake the game! so, in spite, i made such a petition as well, but it is to NOT remake it!

Considering the terrible injustice inflicted upon the series up Squenix since(in the form of Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus), I hope they let it sleep before its legacy is destroyed entirely...
