Being close to Lake Michigan is really the only good thing about living in Indiana. Being close to Chicago is a definite drawback.

gosh sounds like where i am texas.
i so love the hill country and the cool clear rivers over there. i am addicted to padre island, south padre and even galveston island. i'm only about 50 miles from the gulf and we have friends that have a nice sized boat. lots of times we get together with them and other people and have parties on their boat, a real relaxed atmosphere where we can enjoy others that live in the same lifestyle that we do.
i'm an hour away from houston which is really neat, close enough to be there quick yet far enough away to be in the country. i'm also bout 3 hours drom dallas fort worth.
yeah, southern hospitality, lots of friendly people, lots of nice feelings from them, doors being held open, smiles and greetings, respect of others and thier stuff and just the all around southern life.

I really can't think of anything about Michigan that I like.....well, maybe the lakes/beaches that I have no time to enjoy because they keep getting closed for too much Ecoli or the awesome snow that traps us in our houses for days...hmm maybe it's the vehicle destroying roads with potholes bigger than my head or the weather..... gotta love a state when you can use your heat & AC in the same week....or no, it's the beautiiful people who would rather knock you down to get the last grocery cart or just look and walk by when you fell on ice with your damn arms full of groceries.....nope, this has to be the absolutely best reason to love Michigan...our drivers !!! So awesome...I have to thank all of you non-turn indicator using people, because I just wouldn't get to slam on my brakes as much if it weren't for you.....or the tailgaters, you guys rock...thanks for letting me know my bumper perfume smells nice.
I just love Michigan....NOT !!!

Just about everything...
2 big cities for everything from concerts to sports. Lots of small towns with good, humble, down to earth people. Several lakes for good fishing, swimming, boating, and lodging. Lots to see, do, and a good enviroment to do it in with lots of family members living here too.
The only thing this state is missing is an ocean, but I can go on vacation for that.

Minnesota is beautiful with many kinds of trees and other vegetation. It is the land of 10,000 lakes with the Mississipi River and many more waterways. The weather is gorgeous for most of the year. The people are friendly and liberal.

It has a good standard of living with low taxes and a state budget that is, for the most part, balanced. It is friendly and nice. It cares about it's history and tries to preserve it.
