There really is no way to find a "best" college for anything. You just need to research the programs of different colleges that you are interested in.
If money is an issue, search local colleges so you don't have to pay out-of-state tuition or have to wait around for residency. If not, then I agree with the person who said to aim for the area/state that you want to teach in and research in that area.
Don't be afraid to email or call the colleges with questions either.

Honestly - you local state teacher's college - there are lot of over hyped over priced programs in teaching that are not worth the money they are charging you to get a job that will pay you 30k for your first year. There is nothing a school like the Brown University can teach you that Rhode Island College can't in my state for example - to become a great teacher.

Look for a college that is certified in Education. All colleges have a major that they are know for. I know when I went to school my school was know for their Education and Business departments. Some schools do not get certified in a major. Sometimes this may cost you the job to someone who graduated from a certified school. Call and ask the college.

Where do you live? My alma mater here in Virginia, James Madison University, is a great college for teaching. In fact, its original focus was as a teacher's college. Now it's a full fledged university with a variety of programs, but education is still one of its specialties. (And everyone I know who went to school there LOVED it....including myself !)

Your best bet for a good education college is to attend in the same area you wish to teach. In other words, if you wish to teach in Texas then attend a college in Texas that has an education program.
