why does everyone think steve irwin was so great?

all ive seen him do was hog tie crockadials and whirl them around and harass wild animals and stingrays and now everyone is surprised that hes dead whats wrong with people my god please tell me why he was so great its about time an animal stuck up for itself

I agree........I did not like him when he was alive! I thought he harrassed animals all for showmanship. Then, when he did the "crocadile walk", feeding it raw meat while it leaped at him as he held his newborn baby......well, that did it for me! It issa shame that he died but, ya know, he asked for it!!! I rank him up in the Michael Jackson department when it comes to parenting skills.

Mr. Irwin had the utmost respect for wild animals and had been injured many times. He never blamed an animal for his injuries. His objective was to teach the public about creatures we don't normally see and are fearful of to protect the wild populations. He grew up this way. And, I suppose in the long run, if he had to choose a way to die, he couldn't have done better. Too bad he was so young. But, he'll be missed. He was a real unique human being and hoping you'll be remembered as fondly as he's remembered. Godloveya.

First of all, whenever someone loses their life it is a terrible thing. Especially when they have a family. Secondly, He did a lot to preserve the wildlife habitat in Australia. He didn't HARASS animals, he saved them and moved them out of dangerous surroundings and into a much better environment. He made major contributions not only to his country but others as well.

I do not know. I thought he was alright, but I did see the video of him holding his baby while feeding a crocodile, not that is a wild animal and you never know their reaction, he may know how to handle them but there is always that one time where something tragic can happen.

well not much people could do what he does. i never saw a guy who jump into a swap just to grab a crocodile not even a zoo guy could do that~! let just say he spice up the whole animal channel. now that what we courage that no oen would't dare to challege .
