it all depends on the game, my man, it all depends on the game.

you obviously know how long chrono trigger can take, by the wording of your question.

in lufia, and it's sequel/prequel, the best RPG on snes, lufia II, there are underground dungeons that you don't need to do. the first game, you need to do one level of it, but there's only seven levels, and not much 'sidequest' stuff. but in lufia II there is a 99 floor dungeon that you can't save in. that, alone, can take like 20-30 hours.

breath of fire... i never really got to play. i played the first one a bit, and... yea, i never got to play. but i imagine it's about 25 hours for I, and 30-40 hours for II and III

final fantasy MQ can be done in 10 hours, II would be around 40 hours, and III would be around 60-80 hours (colleseum)

illusion of gaia is about 20-25 hours. secret of mana is about 15 hours, secret of evermore was about 20 hours. zelda-link to past is about 15-20 hours. mario rpg is about 20-25 hours.

Depends if you do all the extras/sidequests and whether you have a strategy guide.

Extras/sidequests--oh lots of time. like 70 hours, depending on the game.
No extras/sidequests--avrg of maybe 40.
Strategy guide--life is easy. 20.
