It depends what kind of birth control you're talking about. Some hormonal methods of birth control (like the Pill, Depo-Provera, etc.) can actually cause early abortions by preventing a newly conceived, 7-10 day old human being from implanting in his or her mother's womb. It would be hypocritical to be against surgical abortion but not early methods of chemical abortion. For more information on abortifacient birth control, see:

well, if you really want to get technical, birth contol could be a form of killing because you would be preventing an egg from being fertilized and growing into a life. that's why the catholic church does not want their members to use birth control. they believe that nothing should stop a life from being born. Some people see it as just a way to prevent, others of course see it differently. what really makes pro-lifers hypocritical is their view on the death penalty. Shouldn't pro life be pro life in ALL circumstances, not just "certain cases"? Think about that. And it's the idea of killing something that doesn't exist yet that's the issue here. Not all people see abortion as murder. How can you kill something that isn't out of the womb and isn't a human yet?

Birth control prevents conception. Abortion is the killing of a very live human being. This should be an easy difference to fathom

I don't think so. Abortion is removal of a fetus after its growing in the uterus. Birth control just keeps the woman from ovulating or dropping eggs. Some birth controls make the uterus an unfit place for the egg to attach.

No birth control stops a baby from being conceived while an abortion kills something that will someday be a baby, big difference.

Abortion is killing something that is already alive, birth control is preventing life from forming in the first place. You can't kill what doesn't exist.

Not really.
It's like being opposed to war but not to peace rallies and working it out.
You are for what prevents what you are against.
