Did you have a Yahoo account and ID?
Did you forget your password?
When you try to sign in on Yahoo, and you have forgotten your password, there is a button to indicate this.
You will have to identify yourself and answer your secret question, then given a chance to set a new password.

change the browser u r using. now yahoo had made a lot of change. so use the recomended browsers like internet explorer 7.03, safari etc. opera and firefox is least supported.
if u r using above browsers and not able to open yahoo, check for spywares and settings in fire wall.
hope this will help u.
if u r getting invalid id\ pwd then submit for a new password
