It is loosely based on his life. He actually killed his wife while playing 'William Tell.' He was on drugs and into young boys. Research him, he is quite interesting.

I am not sure. I have seen the movie, never read the book. After seeing the movie I looked William Burroughs and found out he was into drugs in a big way. That might explain "Naked Lunch".

Some of the head changes one goes through being addicted to heroin, the withdraws, the life style, the ramblings of the mind, It's a very insightful book, how it is taken by a person that has never lived that life style I can't say, as for me I can relate, I been there.
