Why do gays have small dogs?

All the gays I know have small or tiny dogs. Why don't they like larger dogs like sheppards or labs?

I'm not going to give you a thumbs down because I'm sure you just don't know given your personal situation. While it might be true that many flamboyant gay guys have little dogs, I'd say that of gay pet owners the ratio of small dogs to large dogs is the same for straight people. I don't currently have any dogs as I'm only allowed to have cats in my apartment, but my preference is bigger dogs. My boyfriend also likes big dogs. When we have a house, we'll probably be more likely to get a big dog than a small one.

GAYS have all sorts of dogs - - - what you are possibly dealing with are Gays who live in an inner city urban environment and like many people Straight & Gay a small dog is easier to take care of than a larger canine. Personally I have known several Gay people who had big dogs as pets. Peace.......

I hate when people try to stuff a huge dog in a tiny apartment. It's so not fair to the dog. Gays have all size dogs, by the way. Sometimes it's preference. Sometimes it has to do with what they have to accommodate the dog. Sorta exactly like straight people.

it's a subliminal thing with some of them. you know.. bitchy guy, bitchy dog. hey, you call each other bitches, and others will too. i don't mean it in any derogatory way. I'd say the same thing about a prissy girl and a Pomeranian.
not all of them have little assault weapons covered in fur, though, even if all the ones you've met do. most i know locally don't get along with small dogs at all, but great with big ones.

maybe it has to do with them reinforcing their effeminacy or something... if the guys you know are the ones with small dogs, ask them why, one might even have some minute idea. better than you'll get here.

I have a small dog, way small. It's actually a teacup. I have a 3lbs teacup yorkie terrier. It was a present from one of my ex boyfriends. It's about 3 years old ( human year). My yorkie's name is Billy Elliot.
I can only speak for myself, the reason why i have a teacup yorkie aside from the obvious reason that they are so so cute and adorable. They are so cute, like puff balls and attract guys, im just kidding. I dont know, I just like them. I mean, dont you want to have the cutest things in life.

I don't have any dogs, and when I did they were at least 80 pounds. My preference in dogs would be larger, perhaps a Great Dane or a Siberian Husky. I'm happy with my two cats for now.

Gwen and I cared for a Great Dane/Rhodesian Ridgeback cross until Gwen passed away. The dog then became too much to handle on my own.

OK look I'm Bi (almost gay) and yes I have a Chihuahua lol but I have a small dog so she can go every where with me and I don't have to worry for a dog sitter LOL

Do you mean gay males perhaps? I am lesbian and I have a meduim size dog.. a chow.. and I know lots of lesbians with big dogs...

If you are meaning gay men, my guess is that the little dogs are easier to clean up after, don't shed as much, don't knock over the 6th century ming vase that decorates the entryway...

Are you kidding me? I love huge dogs! I can't stand small dogs-unless it's a Jack Russell, or Beagle, or something of the like.
But mostly I love Pitts, German Shepherds, Huskies, Great Danes-nothing better than a huge dog to crawl their fat butt into your lap while watching the late night news.
