I have heard tales of children growing up with "defects" from living UNDER massive, high-voltage powerlines, but haven't heard anything about NEAR a power station. I would think that it would depend on A) how close you are moving to it, and B) how big the power station really is. There has been scientific proof that living somewhere that has a lot of electro-magnetic fields can cause health problems, but if the station is relatively small, and you live 1/2 to 1 block away, I wouldn't think you'd have any problems. One way to investigate this would be to call your local power company, and talk with a master electrician. They should be able to answer any questions you have regarding "safe zones" when pertaining to high-voltage situations.

Good luck with your move!!
